Why should you nominate your dog? Well, the Dog Of The Week wins a free copy of A Dog’s Purpose. Read about the book!
Think how proud your dog will be to be featured on our web site! All the other dogs in the neighborhood will be barkless with jealousy!
Here’s all you need to do. (If you have trouble, we've put more verbose instructions at the bottom of this page.)
(Registration is required) Be sure to add your dog's name and a description before you hit upload! People often get too excited and miss this part. See the verbose instructions below!
2. Wait for the picture to post. (We need to review the photograph to make sure it isn’t spam or worse.)
3. You will be notified by email when your picture is up. Then have all of your friends and relatives vote for your picture. Strangers and people who regard you with hostility can vote too. Dogs with the highest number of votes ("hits") will be a finalist for Dog of the Week! The votes accumulate for up to 90 days, so if you don’t win one week, keep gathering votes and perhaps you’ll win the next week! And even if your dogs don’t become Dog of the Week, they still win because hey, they get to be dogs.
We would LOVE it if you were to suggest to your friends that they nominate their dogs.
There are rules and blah blah, read our Further considerations.
Here are those promised verbose instructions, delivered with verbosity!
1. To upload a picture, you must be registered with us. Clicking on "Upload" will take you to the Login page. Please login if you have a user name and password, or, if you don't, please register. When you have registered, and again, when you login, you'll be taken back to the home page. It's annoying, sorry. See the pictures below.
After you've logged in and returned to the Nominate your Dog page, click on "Browse" to find your dog's picture on your computer. Double click, select "open," or do whatever you need to do on your particular computer to tell it to select the picture you want. Then be sure to enter your dog's name and description in the text box! When you're done, click "Upload." It can take a few minutes. See the picture, below.
Getting your friends to vote for your dog is as easy as forwarding the e-mail. Remember, votes accumulate for up to 90 days! (After 90 days, we take the picture down.)
